Pat Parris spearheads "The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good" in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need.

This October, we're raising funds for a historic church—one of Tucson's historic landmarks, and an important cultural landmark for the Southside community—Santa Cruz Catholic Church. The 105-year-old building is on the National Register of Historic Places, but is in urgent need of repairs and electrical upgrades.

You can help Santa Cruz Catholic Church with the ongoing restoration and upkeep of this historic structure by donating directly to their website here, at santacruzchurchtucson.com. Just look for the green 'Donate Now' button on their page.

Staff will be tracking donations to ensure that 100% of Giving Project proceeds go into repairs and upkeep.

Thank you to our generous viewers for supporting our September Giving Project with If You Give a Child a Book! With your help, we raised $17,753—a record amount for this annual campaign here at KGUN 9. Thanks to your generosity, we'll be able to send each student at Nash Elementary School, a Title I School in the Amphi District, home with 8 free books for their home libraries this year.
