Pat Parris spearheads "The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good" in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need.
This July, the KGUN 9 Giving Project heads south of Tucson down I-19 to a new youth center aimed at serving young people in the rural area in and around Amado. Opened just two years ago, the Amado Youth Center has already become a key resource for youth in this part of Southern Arizona. During the summer, the center provides free breakfast, activities and life skills lessons.
You can donate to Amado Youth Center directly through its website.
Thank you to our generous viewers for supporting our May Giving Project with Pima Council on Aging. Your donation is helping this nonprofit provide resources to help support Southern Arizona's older adult population through an array of programs.
