Jacqueline Aguilar joined KGUN 9 in February 2024 as a multimedia journalist. In October 2026, she took the next step in her career, joining the Good Morning Tucson team as an anchor.
Born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, Jacqueline is no stranger to the desert heat. A proud University of Arizona Wildcat, she has called Tucson home for the better part of 10 years. From her college years to building a career in journalism, the Old Pueblo has become a special part of her story.
Jacqueline's passion for storytelling began in high school, where her love for theater and an interest in broadcast journalism first sparked her dream of working in television news. Watching reporters cover major events in real time inspired her to pursue a career that would allow her to connect with people, share their stories and make a difference in her community.
She graduated from the U of A in December 2021 with a bachelor's degree in digital journalism and a minor in information science. During her time at the university, she contributed to The Daily Wildcat, covering both sports and opinion.
Before joining KGUN 9, Jacqueline worked at her hometown news station in Yuma, Arizona, where she wore many hats. She started as a digital content producer before transitioning into a multimedia journalist role. She was later promoted to morning anchor, where she also took on the responsibility of producing the station's morning newscasts.
When she's not in the newsroom or waking up bright and early with Tucson viewers, Jacqueline stays busy with her four-legged friends: two Siberian huskies, Roma and Chemino and a mini Goldendoodle named Ranger. She enjoys hitting the hiking trails with her dogs, exploring Tucson and stopping by local coffee shops for her favorite cold brew with cream or matcha.
For Jacqueline, being part of Good Morning Tucson is an opportunity to start each day connecting with the community that has played an important role in her life.
