Pat Parris spearheads "The Giving Project – Doing Well, by Doing Good" in partnership with the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. The first week of each month Pat presents a new nonprofit organization that is making a positive impact in our community and asks you to consider making a donation. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference for those in need.
For KGUN 9's May Giving Project, we're supporting BICAS, Bicycle Inter-Community Art & Salvage, a Tucson-based nonprofit that supports affordable transportation for all. BICAS is a one-stop-shop for community members looking for all things bicycle. From the sale of refurbished bikes at low prices to bike repair and maintenance classes to its work-trade program, BICAS is a community-forward organization that has served the Tucson community since 1989.
You can donate directly to BICAS through their online donation portal. The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $500 each month.
Thank you to our generous viewers for supporting our February Giving Project with the Friends of the Pima County Public Library! With your help, we raised $1055 for this Tucson nonprofit.
