TUCSON, Ariz — For the Tucson Roadrunners, the third uniform is a charm.

On Monday, the Roadrunners showed off their new Kachina sweaters that they will wear, for select games, during the 2019-20 season. They were inspired by the Coyotes uniform that the parent club wears each Saturday at Gila River Arena.

"The Kachina look is something that was always embraced by Coyotes fans," said team president Bob Hoffman. "We think it's going to do really well in southern Arizona as well. It's got that southwest meets hockey landscape look to it, and we tired to stay true to that while making it unique and something specific to Tucson."

"I took a good look at it last week, and what an exciting day for Tucson and Arizona hockey," said forward Dakota Mermis. "To continue to grow that Kachina brand and to bring that to Tucson, that's really cool."

The Roadrunners will wear the black Kachina jerseys for the club's home opener in October.

Roadrunners fans who purchase or renew season tickets by April 13th will receiver one Kachina sweater per account.
