TUCSON, Ariz. — Salpointe Catholic faces Saguaro Scottsdale at Arizona Stadium Friday night for the Class 4A state football championship.
This is a rematch of last year's title game won by Saguaro 28-7.
But the Lancers are a more experienced and talented team this time around.
"This team has grown a lot," said Salpointe Head Coach Dennis Bene. "This team has gone through the grind, embrace the process as we like to say. They've matured a lot. I think right now we're playing our best football. They're playing for one another."
Salpointe will try and stop Saguaro's quest for a sixth straight state title. Friday's title game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
