TUCSON, Arizona — Former Arizona Wildcat women's basketball star Dee-Dee Wheeler has been approved to become the new head of interscholastic sports for the Tucson Unified School District.
Wheeler, who finished her Wildcat career in 2016, was a three-time First Team All-Pac 10 selection, and her name is on the Ring of Honor at McKale Center. She has a degree from the University of Arizona in elementary education, and she has two masters degrees from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. Previously, she was the District-Wide Director of Elementary Sports for her hometown of Chicago.
Wheeler will begin her new role in June. She replaces longtime administrator Herman House, who will help with the transition.
