TUCSON, Ariz — CDO will host Flowing Wells in the spotlight game on Thursday night to begin the high school football season. Eight teams took part in a kickoff luncheon today at Sabbar Shrine Temple.

"I like being the only game in town," said CDO head coach Scott Cortese. "It gives us the spotlight. We have a lot of new players. It's good to break them in nice and early."

The game is a rematch of last year's 38-37 Flowing Wells win.

"I know a lot of their players, and I've had history with them," said CDO senior Dylan Zamorano. "They are friends. It will be different, hopefully, this time."

Friday night matchups include Rio Rico at Pusch Ridge Christian, Buena at Catalina Foothills, and Maryvale at Tucson.
