TUCSON, Arizona — Arizona Athletics is mourning the loss of David Lowell, who is part of the namesake of the school's Lowell-Stevens Football facility.
Lowell, who passed away at the age of 92, graduated from the University of Arizona in 1949. He was a world renowned geologist. He also attended Tucson High School.
Lowell was often seen at McKale Center. He and is wife, Edith, donated millions of dollars to UArizona on several occasions, including the for the school's new football facility that opened in 2013.
