TUCSON, Arizona — Aari McDonald is returning for some unfinished business.

The Wildcat junior guard has been taking the last few weeks to recover from a stress fracture in her leg and decided whether or not to enter the WNBA draft a year early.

She announced on social media that "after many long talks with my family and fiance, I have made the decision to return next season."

McDonald was the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and led the conference in scoring by averaging twenty points per game. The Wildcats had a record of 24-7 and were set to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Women's Tournament before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus.

With the return of McDonald as well as junior Cate Reese, and incoming recruit Lauren Ware, head coach Adia Barnes and the Wildcats are set for a promising 2020-21 season.
