TUCSON, Arizona — Arizona Women's Basketball guard Aari McDonald was named an Associated Press Preseason All-American, one of just five players in the nation to earn such an honor.
McDonald returns for her senior season after leading the Pac-12 in points and steals the past two seasons. Among her honors last season was being named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.
"It means a lot," said McDonadl. "It’s a humbling honor. I’m blessed to be named an All-American. I’m just going go to continue to do my thing. This will go out the window, probably tomorrow at practice. I have just got to keep getting better."
After just two seasons, McDonald is the Wildcats sixth all-time leading scorer. She is the first UArizona player to be named an AP Preseason All-American.
