Arizona voters have voted no on Proposition 127, which is a renewable energy standards initiative.

Proposition 127 would increase the states renewable portfolio standards (RPS) each year until reaching 50 percent in 2030 by using renewable clean energy like wind, solar and water. As of this year, Arizona's RPS was 15 percent by 2025. An RPS is a mandate that electric utilities acquire a minimum amount of electricity from renewable energy sources.

Proposition 127 is one of the most expensive ballot measures in the state's history. According to Ballotpedia, between the support and opposition campaigns, more than $53.93 million had been raised surrounding the ballot measure.
