UPDATE (10:30 a.m., Jan. 19): Tucson Police have identified a suspect in a stabbing that took place near South Camino Seco and East Irvington Road, Thursday night.

39-year-old Adrian Simmons was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, one count of disorderly contact with a dangerous instrument and one count of aggravated assault.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 4600 block of S. Foxdale Dr. Thursday evening.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with injuries who was transported to a local hospital.

Officers determined that the suspect, Simmons, was in a house on the same block. Members of TPD SWAT and the Hostage Negotiations Team were able to get Simmons out of the home and detained.

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) says a suspect was arrested after a stabbing near East Irvington Road and Camino Seco, Thursday night.

Officers say a man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Tucson police say the suspect was inside a house on South Foxdale Drive, and they had the surrounding block contained.

KGUN 9 crews on the scene heard police say they had a warrant and planned on entering the house over the loud speaker, followed with a loud bang.

The suspect was arrested after an hours long stand-off with police.
