Arizona Basketball held its annual media day where head coach Sean Miller named seniors Chase Jeter and Justin Coleman as co-captains.
Jeter, a center, red-shirted last season after transferring from Duke. Coleman is a grad transfer from Samford University.
"They earned it," said head coach Sean Miller. "We are looking forward ot their experience."
"It was a blessing to be named oc-captain," said Coleman, the team's true point guard. "It shows the relationship I have with my guys.
Miller called this year's team a unique combination of players. The Wildcats are made up freshmen, returnees who didn't play much last year, and transfers. Unlike last year's team, noone is expecting them to make the Final Four.
"That's ok," said sophomore Ira Lee. "That's making us go harder, and making us way more focused.
"It's up to us to be better than people on the outside predict us to be," added Miller.
Miller refused to comment on the FBI college basketball bribery scandal. Arizona's annual Red-Blue intrasquad game is on Sunday, October 14th.
