TUCSON, Ariz. - The up-and-down career of UA basketball player Devonaire Doutrive has come to an end.

Doutrive, who was suspended from the team earlier this season before being reinstated, was dismissed from the team.

In the off-season, he announced he would transfer before deciding to return to the squad.

"Effective immediately, Devonaire Doutrive has been dismissed from our men’s basketball program for violation of team rules," coach Sean Miller said in a statement. "He will continue to receive academic aid and support through the remainder of the current semester. We wish him well in the next steps of his academic and athletic career."

The 6-5 sophomore, best known for hitting a game-winning shot against Oregon State as a freshman, appeared in three games this season and averaged 6.3 points per game.

No. 14 Arizona (5-0) hosts Long Beach State (1-3) at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
