Tirer and Alkins try and boost draft status at NBA combine

Former Arizona Wildcats Rawle Alkins and Allonzo Trier are trying to boost their draft status along with other NBA hopefuls at the combine in Chicago.

Alkins is trying to show that there are no long-term effects of the broken foot he suffered at the beginning of last season. He surprisingly measured at just 6'2'' and 3/4 inches tall without sneakers, shorter than the 6'5'' he was listed at while playing for the Wildcats.

It's the second combine for Alkins, who tested the waters last year before deciding to return to the Wildcats. He and Trier are both projected as late second round draft picks.

DeAndre Ayton isn't attending the combine. He is projected by many mock drafts to be the top overall selection, which is held by the Phoenix Suns. Arizona has never had a player selected number one overall.
