SAN BERNARDINO, California — A team from Central Maui defeated Sunnyside, 4-1, as the team from Tucson comes up one win short of advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
In a game televised by ESPN, Sunnyside got on the scoreboard in the first inning with an RBI single by Damian Lorta scored Juan Hernandez. However, Hawaii hit two home runs to account for their four runs, and they held up over the team from the south side.
The loss was Sunnyside's second to the Hawaiian team this week.
