TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Sugar Skulls may have lost the game last Sunday to the Arizona Rattlers, but they gained confidence.

Sugar Skulls fans also saw the emergence of a star wide receiver.

Rico Brown caught a pair of touchdowns, including one up against the boards.

"In practice it's way different, because we practice outside and the wall is not even there," explained Brown. "In the game, when the board is there, it's like this thing is right here. As soon as you catch it hurry up and brace yourself. You know it's coming."

Brown admits the most important part is hanging onto the football.

"Hold on to the rock. Because if you don't hold on to the rock, coach is going to be mad."

Brown played at Ohio University before a graduate transfer to Western Illinois. Now he is becoming one of the Sugar Skulls most steady producers.

He sees this team starting to come together at the midpoint of the season.

"I believe we are becoming more of a team, we're jelling more together. I felt like this week of practice we've just been putting it all together."

The Sugar Skulls travel to Moline, Illinois on Saturday, to face the Quad City Steamwheelers.
