Sugar Skulls lose at Nebraska 53-47

GRAND ISLAND, Ne — Brandon Roe intercepted three passes and the Nebraska Danger held off the Tucson Sugar Skulls, 53-47 in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Matt Behrendt started the game at quarterback and threw two interceptions to Roe, although one was in the final seconds before halftime. Jake Medlock replaced Behrendt, and the third interception came in the final minute of a potential game winning drive by Tucson.

Special teams was again an issue, as the Danger's Eric Thomas returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown. Sugar Skulls wide receiver Rashad Canty caught a touchdown pass in his first game with the team.

Linebacker Zach Allen had nine tackles in the loss for Tucson.

The Sugar Skulls fall to 3-2, and will host the Arizona Rattlers next week.
