Mike McKenna stopped twenty seven shots as the Stars blanked Tucson 2-0 to take a three games to one series lead in Texas.
Tucson wanted to start the game well, as the Roadrunners are 4-0 in the post season when scoring the game's initial goal. In the first period, Trevor Cheek had a chance from point blank ranged but was denied by McKenna.
The Stars then scored two goals midway through the second period. Curtis McKenzie scored a power play goal on a one-timer, and then Andrew Bodnarchuk put a rebound past Adin HIll to make it 2-0. McKenna then made those goals hold up.
Dylan Strome had a team-high six shots on goal for the Roadrunners, who have lost three games in a row for the second time this season. This was also just the second time they were shutout this year.
Game four is Friday night in Texas. If the Roadrunners can avoid elimination, the series would then head back to Tucson.
