Salpointe will play Sahuaro in the class 4A high school football state semifinals Friday night at Mountain View High School.
The game is a rematch of a 28-12 Lancer win earlier this year at Salpointe High School. This game will be played at a neutral site. Salpointe comes into the game undefeated thanks in part to players Bijon Robinson, Mario Padilla, and Lathan Ransom.
"We hope their bus breaks down along the way and all those guys don't show up," joked Sahuaro head coach Scott McKee. "They are outstanding but we also have great kids. Our goal offensively will be to keep the ball moving. Hopefully, it will be a good night for us.
In a class 3A semifinal, Sabino will face Yuma at Shadow Mountain High School. The Sabercats are riding a ten game winning streak in the matchup.
