TUCSON, Ariz — Conor Garland did his part, but he was unable to help get the Tucson Roadrunners into the AHL playoffs in the regular season's final weekend.
Garland scored two goals in Friday night's win over San Diego, and on two goals Saturday night against the Gulls. However, Tucson lost the finale, 4-3, in front of 6.521 fans on fan appreciation night at the Tucson Arena.
The Roadrunners needed to beat the Gulls, or lose in overtime, on Saturday to make the playoffs, but fell just short. The final playoff spot went to Colorado, who earlier in the night defeated San Jose.
Garland had been called down from the Coyotes after their season ended last week.
