Richard Jefferson said he has decided to "move on from basketball" in an Instagram post Saturday.
In the post, Jefferson also talked about his father Richard, who was shot and killed in Sept.
"In the last month I’ve dealt with two life changing events back to back. My decision to move on from basketball and the tragic passing of Big Rich," said Jefferson, adding that the support from family and friends has been huge.
Jefferson played 17 seasons in the NBA, winning a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.
