All eyes will be at Mountain View tonight as the Mountain Lions host Ironwood Ridge to begin the high school football season in the Coaches for Charity Kickoff Classic.
It's a northwest side matchup between two perennially strong teams.
"We're excited," said Ironwood Ridge senior running back Nathan Grijalva, who's playing in his third Coaches for Charity Classic. "We have great players and they have great players. We have great coaches and they have great coaches. It's going to be an interesting matchup and I can't wait."
"It has motivated us because we're opening up with our rival," said Mountain View senior linebacker Caleb McRae. "It's awesome to play the first game."
Coaches for Charity, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit charity that raises funds through special events and athletics to support young people and encourages healthy, active lifestyles.
"For us to have this organization that gives back and helps out our youth here in Southern Arizona makes this an honor for us to be playing," said Mountain View head coach Clarence McRae.
