TUCSON, Arizona — Grant Gunnell's throwing shoulder is injured, but its unknown if it's bruised, separated, or dislocated.
It's likely not dislocated, because Sumlin indicated that Gunnell wants to play this Saturday against Colorado at Arizona Stadium.
"We'll see where he is," said Sumlin. "If he can go, he can go. I think it's too early to talk about that. We're going to do the best thing for him and his career."
Gunnell was injured on the game's first play in Saturday's 27-10 loss at UCLA. He did not return to the game, and true freshman Will Plummer played in his place.
Arizona is 0-3 this season and has lost a program record ten consecutive games dating back to last season.
