One is a senior, while the other is a freshman. One is from Alabama while the other is from California. And one is is a graduate transfer, while the other was a top recruit. But, Justin Coleman and Brandon Williams are set to start in the backcourt for this year's Arizona Basketball team.
Coleman, the senior graduate transfer who began his career at the University of Alabama, is a true point guard. Williams is more of a combination guard who will handle the point when Coleman is on the bench.
"I like playing with him, and I know he likes playing with me," said Williams. "It's unfair (to the other teammates) when Coach Miller puts us together at practice."
"I help him out with a lot of growing pains and experience that I went through," said Coleman. "He also helps me because he was a top 20 player coming out of high school."
Coleman and Williams are helping to replace the five starters that were lost from last year's team. The Wildcats will host Western New Mexico in an exhibition game on Thursday night.
