Arizona Football has one more game this season with the Foster Farms Bowl, but offensive lineman Layth Friekh and wide receiver Shawn Poindexter will also get to have one more season after that.
Today, the NCAA granted both players an extra year of eligibility.
Friekh, a left tackle, was instrumental in the Wildcats setting numerous rushing records. He also protects the blind side of quarterback Khalil Tate.
"I've been wanting this," said Poindexter. "I think I need it. I think I should be in college one more year so I'm stoked about it and ready to do it."
Poindexter, who caught fourteen passes last season, is a big target at 6'5''.
"We have another year together," said Poindexter. "The first season was 3-9. This season was 7-5, so we have to progress and hopefully bring home a Pac-12 championship."
The Wildcats play Purdue in the December 27th Foster Farms Bowl in Santa Clara.
