TUCSON, Arizona — While growing up in South Phoenix, Wildcat freshman Dalen Terry dreamed of playing for the Arizona Wildcats.
"I’ve always been a confident kid," said Terry.
Terry would go on to play for the same Hillcrest High School as Deandre Ayton, who he also followed to the University of Arizona.
"When I committed, Deandre told me to keep my head up," added Terry.
Terry says he’s a natural point guard, but at 6'7'' with more than a seven foot wingspan, he’s able to play multiple positions for Sean Miller’s team.
"He really sees the ball well," said Miller. "He passes well. He’s unselfish."
Terry averages six points, four rebounds, and three assists per game. He does a little bit of everything on the court.
"Defensively, he’s a great competitor," added Miller. "He’s smart for someone as young as he is."
Just 18 years old, Dalen Terry is contributing to the Wildcats with a confidence he’s always had.
"When you go to the bucket, you better be strong with it," said Terry. "There’s not a lot of easy buckets."
"The sky is the limit for him," said Miller. "He’s a very unique player. I’m glad he’s with us."
