TUCSON, Ariz — Arkansas State touched down in Tucson on Christmas night, ahead of Saturday's Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl when they will play Nevada at Arizona Stadium.
"It's our first time being here," said Red Wolves head coach Blake Anderson. "Most of these guys have never been to Tucson. It's an opponent we are not familiar with. Each time you get to do something for the first time, I think it's added excitement for us."
Arkansas State will be making its eighth straight bowl appearance, but its first in the 4th annual Noval Home Loans Arizona Bowl. Nevada, which arrives on Wednesday, won the inaugural game.
The two teams have a full slate of activities including hospital visits, and a visit to Old Tucson Studios before Saturday's game, which kicks off at 11:15 a.m. local time.
"Whatever the bowl has to offer, we will do it as a team, and then we'll be focused for gametime," said Anderson.
