TUCSON, Ariz — A program record 10,135 fans at McKale Center watched Arizona beat TCU 59-53 in the WNIT semifinals.

"For us to do this, it shows how excited the city is," said head coach Adia Barnes. "I love that. It hasn't been like that in a really long time."

"It makes all of us feel good," said Aari McDonald, referring to the crowd. "We went through rough patches in the game, and the cheer motivated us to go a little harder."

McDonald scored 19 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Dominique McBryne scored 13 points with six rebounds and three steals.

Arizona suffocated the TCU offense, holding the Horned Frogs to just 27% from the field.

The Wildcats will host Northwestern in the WNIT championship Saturday at noon. Coincidentally, Arizona beat Northwestern to win the 1996 WNIT title.
