TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Wildcats football will not renew a contract for defensive line coach Iona Uiagalelei, the team announced .

This is the third Arizona football assistant to be let go this season.

Back on Oct. 27, the Wildcats fired defensive coordinator Marcel Yates and linebackers coach John Rushing. At that time, the Wildcats named Chuck Cecil defensive coordinator and promoted defensive analyst Hank Hobson to linebackers coach.

The Wildcats (4-6, 2-5 Pac-12) have lost five straight games and host No. 7 Utah Saturday at Arizona Stadium.

UArizona released a statement from Wildcats head coach Kevin Sumlin on the staffing move Thursday:

“I thank Iona for his service to UA and wish him well moving forward. This change is in the best interest of our football program at this time.”
