TUCSON, Ariz — Ole Miss pitcher Brittany Finney will be going up against her former pitching coach in the town she once called home.

Finney was born in Tucson but moved away at the age of four. She and the Rebels are in Tucson for this weekend's NCAA Softball Super Regional at Rita Hillenbrand Stadium.

"When I walked in, its obviously a brand new stadium," said Finney. "So, I've never been here before. I think its been eight years since I was here. When I walked in, 'I said that I remember this place.' I remember things around town. It was a little eerie. But, I'm ready, I'm so ready for this."

The town isn't her only connection to the Arizona progarm. Current Wildcat pitching coach Taryne Mowatt was the Ole Miss pitching coach when Finney was a sophomore.

"Coach T is a great coach," said Finney. "She was able to help me develop into a great pitcher. It is different coming in to play against her. After she left, we were heartbroken. But, going to Arizona was the dream job she wanted."

Game one of the best of three series is on Friday night. The Arizona Wildcats are trying to advance to the Women's World Series in Oklahoma City for the first time since 2010.
