Arizona football #22 in first set of CFP rankings

The first set of College Football Playoff rankings were released today, and the surging Wildcats were ranked #22.  The top 4 teams in the CFP rankings were no surprise, Georgia at #1, Alabama #2, Notre Dame #3 and Clemson #4.  

Four other Pac-12 teams made the CFP rankings: Washington #12, USC #17, Stanford #21 and Washington State #25.The Wildcats also notched their first ranking in the AP Top 25 this week, coming in at #23.  They'll face #17 USC on Saturday at the Coliseum.

Khalil Tate has electrified college football since taking over October 7th in the first quarter against Colorado.  Tate rushed for 840 yards in the month of October.  He's also been named the Pac-12 offensive Player of the Week 4 straight weeks, which has never happened in league history.

The Wildcats are 6-2 this season and will look to make it 5 straight wins on Saturday at USC, and will battle for the top spot in the Pac-12 South.
