TUCSON, Arizona — The matchup is set for this year's Arizona Bowl, and there is extra interest for Wildcat fans.
MAC champion Ball State will play Mountain West Champion San Jose State at noon on December 31st.
San Jose State is coached by Brent Brennan, who is thought to be a leading candidate for the Arizona Wildcat head coaching job after UArizona athletic director Dave Heeke indicated he was looking for someone with ties to the program.
Brennan was a graduate assistant under the late Dick Tomey at Arizona in 2000. Additionally, he was a wide receivers coach for Tomey at San Jose State.
The Spartans are 7-0 and ranked 24th in the country.
