Arizona Wildcats commit Matt Liberatore has been named the Gatorade Arizona Baseball Player of the Year.
Liberatore, a senior at Mountain Ridge high school in Glendale, went 8-1 with an ERA of 0.93. He struck out 104 batters in 60 innings. The left hander is 6'5'' and has a fastball that has been clocked as high as 95 miles per hour.
Liberatore is projected to be a high first round draft pick, and therefore may skip college and turn professional.
