PHOENIX (AP) — Police in Phoenix say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last week.

They say 27-year-old Jonathan Jesse Juarez has been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

It was unclear Monday if Juarez has a lawyer yet.

Police say officers responded to a fight call Saturday night and they found a man with a gunshot wound inside a residence.

Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

He was identified as 39-year-old William Jerry Anaya.

Detectives learned through the investigation that Anaya was involved in a verbal argument with two other men prior to the shooting.

Police didn't immediately say how Juarez was linked to the case.
