A Pinal County Sheriff’s Office detention officer is on administrative leave after being arrested for sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old boy.

PCSO said the arrest was made by the Mesa Police Department Friday morning.

Mesa police have identified the suspect as 48-year-old Robert Hunter. Police say Hunter met a 15-year-old boy on a social media app and began an inappropriate relationship with the victim.

The two met numerous times in 2018 to engage in inappropriate sexual acts.

PCSO says Hunter has been with the department since 2009.

A PCSO spokesperson released the following statement:

“We take these allegations extremely seriously and we are working with the Mesa Police Department as well as conducting our own internal affairs investigation.”

Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb also posted this video on social media Friday.

Hunter has been arrested on 20 felonies, the estimated amount of times the two engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior.
