Phoenix firefighters say a second-alarm brush fire burning in North Phoenix is 100 percent contained.

Fire crews say the "Jomax Fire," which is about 1,145 acres, started Sunday just after 2:30 p.m. near the remote-control airplane field at Cave Creek and Jomax roads.

Authorities say, a man that was interviewed at the scene told fire crews his small remote-control airplane crashed and started the fire.

State Wildland crews and Daisy Mountain firefighters were sent to assist Phoenix and Scottsdale firefighters battling the blaze.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were needed, fire officials say.
