The public paid their respects to fallen Salt River Police Officer Clayton Townsend on Monday night.
The public visitation took place from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located at 401 N. Hayden Rd., in Scottsdale.
Law enforcement, family, and friends of the family held a separate, private visitation beforehand.
A funeral service will be held for Officer Townsend on Tuesday.
A funeral procession will begin at Big Surf Water Park (1500 N. McClintock Drive, Tempe) and proceed to Christ's Church of the Valley Peoria. The procession will gather around 6:30 a.m. and depart no later than 7:15 a.m.
The funeral service will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Christ's Church of the Valley Peoria located at 7007 West Happy Valley Road in Peoria.
Officer Townsend was hit and killed last week during a traffic stop on the Loop 101. The driver who hit him was booked into jail but released on bond.
