Troopers shut down southbound Interstate 19 Wednesday morning due to an injury wreck before reopening in the 10 a.m. hour.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a passenger car rear-ended a box truck on the freeway near Sahuarita Road. A motorist was trapped inside and had to be removed from the car. The victim was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic was diverted to Pima Mine Road.
