TUCSON, Ariz. -- Hundreds of shelter pets at Pima County Animal Care Center got an early holiday surprise of pet toys and supplies on Thursday.

GreaterGood.org delivered the gifts of beds, leashes, bowls and treats. Those dogs and cats who have been at the shelter the longest were also treated to VIP pet goodies.

The national non-profit says the much-needed donation of pet toys and supplies will help comfort these shelter pets while they wait for their forever homes.

If you are in search of a pet, there is an opportunity the weekend of November 8th. The PetSmart National Adoption Weekend is running Nov. 8th through 10th. Stores at El Con and near Oracle and Wetmore are participating. For more information, click here.
