SURVEY: Arizona among worst states to raise a family

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Despite the breathtaking views, numerous outdoor activities and perfect weather, Arizona was named one of the worst states to raise a family in a new WalletHub study.

In the new study, WalletHub ranks Arizona 40th in the nation based on 49 key indicators of family-friendliness, according to its website.

Based on Affordability and Education & Child Care, Arizona ranks 48th and 47th respectively. There is good news, the Grand Canyon State ranks 12th for familly fun. As for Heath & Safety and Socioeconomics, our state was in the middle compared to others in the country.

For those looking for the best state to live in, WalletHub says Minnesota tops the study. Massachusetts, North Dakota, Vermont and New Hampshire round out the top five 'best' states. As for the worst state, New Mexico was at the bottom of the list.
