TUCSON, Ariz. — A fallen Phoenix Police Commander will be honored Tuesday, April 7th.
The Phoenix Police Department says Commander Greg Carnicle will be remembered with a Moment of Silence starting at 12 p.m.
The Phoenix Honor Guard will lead the tribute, which will be streamed on Facebook. The Department also announced a funeral Mass is planned for Tuesday, with only immediate family present. Authorities say the service at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church will be limited because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Commander Carnicle died in late March from gunshot wounds while responding to a domestic violence call.
Carnicle was a 31-year veteran who was just months away from retirement.
