A power outage in Sells has sparked Baboquivari School District officials to close schools, as well as the Tohono O'odham Nation's government, for the second straight day.
As of 7:11 p.m. on Wednesday the power was back on.
The district confirmed the move on Facebook. School will be back in session Thursday.
Emergency management, law enforcement and health care facilities remained open and ran on emergency generators.
According to Tohono O'odham Utility Authority, the outage affected as many as 3,500 homes. It started at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The outage affected the entire main Tohono O'odham Nation reservation, but not the Xavier or GIla Bend districts. The cause is a damaged circuit switcher.
