TUCSON, Ariz. — It's a big night for some Rincon/University High School students. Tuesday, March 10th, the choir will hold a farewell concert before heading to perform on the Carnegie Hall stage in New York City.

The school choir takes a big trip every two years, according to Choir Director Mareena Boosamra Ball. The last trip was to Greece in 2018.

With this big trip across the country, the nearly 80 members say they have all been rehearsing for the past few weeks to get ready for the unique experience.

"They say, 'how do you get to Carnegie Hall?' And of course the answer is practice, practice, practice. But not everybody gets to do that. It is very special that kids are getting this opportunity to go and to perform in a place where only the great people of the world have performed over the years," says Ball.

The choir is set to perform at Carnegie Hall on March 15th. This will be the 8th time a choir from the school visits the world-renowned stage.

The free concert Tuesday night is at 6:30 p.m. at the high school's auditorium.
