Police respond to barricaded domestic violence incident on eastside, suspect in custody

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson police responded to an barricaded domestic violence incident on the eastside Monday.

Tucson Police and SWAT were able to take the suspect into custody around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

TPD says there was a child in the home. The suspect and child were both unharmed.

Officials say the suspect told police he was armed.

The suspect is facing multiple felonies.

According to officer Ray Smith, a man assaulted a victim near Vancouver and Escalante Monday night. A victim suffered minor injuries.

Officers found the suspect, but he refused to cooperate and barricaded himself inside a home.

Police shut down Pantano from Stella Road to Dream View Drive as they attempted to take the suspect into custody.

TPD says roads that were closed all day should reopen shortly.
