How to celebrate Tucson's birthday

Tucson is turning 242 in the coming days, and organizers have some events lined up to celebrate the occasion.

From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the Arizona Historical Society will hold a family event at the Arizona History Museum, 949 E. 2nds St., letting participants craft seed balls with native wildflower seeds. General admission is $4.

On Monday, the city will host a series of free festivities at the Presidio Museum at the corner of Church and Washington. Live music, vendors and ceremonies will start at 6 p.m. Birthday cake will be served. The doors to the museum will open at 5:30 p.m.
