TUCSON, Ariz. -- Thanks to a $5,000 donation, new road signs will be installed to help visitors find wine tasting rooms more easily in Willcox.

Kinder Morgan, Inc. presented the funds to the Cochise County's Public Works Department. The company is planning to expand its operations on Arzberger Road where it has an existing compressor station. Kinder Morgan, Inc. has worked closely with local vineyard owners to make sure impact to the industries is at a minimum.

According to county officials, the donation will be used to create and install road signs that will guide visitors to the increasing number of tasting rooms in the Willcox area.

“This is one step in many steps toward really furthering and supporting the growth of the wine industry,” said County Administrator Ed Gilligan. “The wine industry is vital for us, and this donation from Kinder Morgan is a step toward getting better signage in this area and creating a better tourist experience.”

Allen Fore with Kinder Morgan, Inc. says the company's additional tax revenue of about $1.1 million annually to the County and State wil help pay for future infrastructure needs as the wine industry continues to grow.
