Cyclovia returns to southside on Sunday, expect road closures

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Cyclovia returns to South 12th Avenue October 27th, and drivers in the area can expect traffic delays.

The Tucson Department of Transportation says the event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. It will extend from the Julian Wash Archeological Park at The Loop to Mission Manor Park just south of Drexel Road.

"Cyclovia en la Doce" is said to provide car-free streets for the community to explore the neighborhoods, businesses while also enjoying food and live music. TDOT says it first debuted in 2017 and helps connect the community to area businesses.

Starting Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. the following road closures will be in effect:

  • South 12th Avenue from 39 th Street to West Veterans Boulevard
  • West Veterans Boulevard from South 12th Avenue to S. Liberty Avenue
  • South Liberty Avenue from West Veterans Boulevard to West Palmdale Street
  • West Palmdale Street from South Liberty Avenue to South 12th Avenue
  • South 12th Avenue from West Palmdale Street to West Mossman Street
