TUCSON, Ariz. -- The City of Tucson Transportation Department is planning two bicycle and pedestrian safety improvement projects.

The first is the Third Street Bicycle Boulevard and the second is the Treat Avenue Bicycle Boulevard. TDOT says these projects are part of the voter-approved Tucson Delivers Strong Connections Program. The hope is to expand bike routes to give cyclists more options beyond heavily-trafficked roads.

The project team has put together project design plans that the community can view and give feedback. There will be two drop-in events in December:

  • Thursday, December 5 from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. at Himmel Park Library
  • Tuesday, December 10 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Murphy-Wilmot Library
